Are you interested in the Arts?
St. Pauls is looking for actors
and musicians of all ages to participate in its growing Arts program. The Gateway Players, St. Paul's Cultural
Center's own theater group, is looking for talented actors, technicians and anyone with knowledge of stage-craft.
We will be holding auditions on Feb 16 and Mar 15. We are also looking for musicians to form the nucleus of a musical group to perform a variety of classical music.
If you are interested, please contact us at (928) 783-3530.
Meditation Groups
Starting January 11 we will be performing an evening satsang and meditation every Wednesday at 7:00pm. If you're interested you can sign up with the Yuma Vitality Community.
In addition to St. Paul's Cultural Center, and only two blocks away, Casa Redondo Wedding Chapel & Gardens are available for small and intimate weddings and photo sessions. Whether large of small, a wedding officiant or pastor is available to help you with your wedding plans and your wedding ceremony. Of course outside officiants and your own minister are always welcome. We also conduct services in Spanish.
The Center is located at 645 S. 2nd Avenue in the Century Heights Historic District of Old Yuma and operates as a cultural complex as well as a multi-venue events center. The Complex consists of two historic buildings, a rose garden, a large private patio, kitchens and parking.
Old St. Paul's Church, built in the style of the English chapel, is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1909, it is an Arizona treasure considered by many to be the finest Gothic building in the Southwest. It seats up to 250 patrons for our various functions. As a wedding facility it is open to all denominations. A wedding officiant or pastor is available to help you with your wedding plans and with your wedding ceremony.
Equally charming, the Center's Annex resembles a small English castle. It houses our offices, the Center's Little Gateway Theater seating 125 and doubling as a Reception Hall seating from 50 to 80 depending on seating configuration and usage. The Annex also houses our Library & Classroom which seats up to 45 and doubles as our private and spacious Bridal Dressing Room. And with the addition of our private Patio Garden, our reception and party facilities can accommodate events with up to 300 guests.
St. Paul's Cultural Center is also the home of Yuma's premier heritage cooking school, Tina's Cocina which also offers catering that will meet your budget whether large or small.
Lastly, St. Paul's Cultural Center is the home of the Gateway Academy, an organization of educators and intellectuals committed to serious public dialogue and access to the nourishment inherent in the wisdom traditions East and West and which are almost totally neglected in the curriculum of the various public schools.
Casa Redondo Wedding Chapel is a nearby
annex of the Cultural Center located at 464 S. 1st Avenue. It is
an important historic landmark and the home of the descendants of Yuma's
first Mayor, Jose Maria Redondo. Its beautiful walled gardens featuring more
than 50 trees, water features, and multiple secluded arbors, is a perfect
place for small intimate garden weddings. Small and very
affordable chapel-style weddings are also available in one
of the properties historic adobes or in the garden itself. Because of its
charming background, local photographers often book Casa Redondo
Gardens for photo shoots. For this a small gratuity is requested.
Also, when you are visiting Casa Redondo Wedding Chapel
and Casa Redondo Gardens, ask to see our secluded
three-room Honeymoon Suite.
